Brand New Egg
Cage Sizes
Here is a little quick reference chart of how many can comfortably fit in a specific sized cage. Just multiply all 3 of the dimensions to get your cubic inches. A good rule is about 3,800 cubic inches per budgie should be enough room. Obviously the bigger the better. Just keep in mind wider is alway better then taller.
Minimum size for 1 parakeet-------18x18x18"
Volume = 5,832" cubic inches
Minimum size for 2 parakeets-----30x18x18"
Volume = 9,720" cubic inches
Minimum size for 3 parakeets-----32x18x20"
Volume = 11,520" cubic inches
Minimum size for 4 parakeets-----34x18x25"
Volume = 15,300" cubic inches
Minimum size for 5 parakeets-----35x18x30"
Volume = 18,900" cubic inches
Minimum size for 6 parakeets-----40x18x32"
Volume = 23,040" cubic inches
