I am so very sorry for your loss. I don't care what anyone says - losing a pet hurts as much as losing a human member of the family. I know it did for me...I grieved for my cat a bit more than my gran when they died. he'll be there waiting for you, and your reunion will be joyous.

Re: Missing my little Maxi!
Thank you so much for the nice condolence, Gail. I totally agree with you that our fids are indeed just like our family members. I will always miss my little Maxi. On a happier note, I got a new little yellow budgie a few days ago. I have named him Muffin. He will have "big" shoes to fill, because Maxi was a very unique budgie! He could make every sound that a tiel makes (I have a tiel in my home also), wolf whistle and flock call me when I was in another room. I hope my little Muffin will learn to do the same. Hugs! Ellen

Re: Missing my little Maxi!
He may learn to do the same but on the other hand, he will likely have a different personality. My pair are like chalk and cheese sometimes. My male, Lawrence, is pretty conventional, did pretty much ewhat the books said, like chirping at his mpiiror or using a foot to steady himself when he ate millet from my hand. Julie, on the other hand, was full of surprises. She would bite you bone minute sharply, then give you a soft play-nibble the next, loves hanging upside down (once I found her on her swing, swinging and cheeping - upside down!) and would rather use her beak to sready herself before going on my hand to eat millet rather than her foot.
Hipefully Muffin will learn what Maxi did, and maybe he'll surprise you as well with something unique all of his own.
