Re: Eggs have hatched.
Congratulations on your new babies
What I would suggest is that you add at least 1-2" deep more bedding in your nestbox...thing will help for a few reasons. It will help the babies to stay warmer because the bedding retains body heat. And you are at risk of splayed leg if they have continually contact with the nestbox floor with no bedding.

Re: Eggs have hatched.
agree w above and with tiels both parents raise and feed the babies. so a nest box should be big enough for both parents to be in there at same time.

Re: Eggs have hatched.
Thank you all.
The babies have now opened their eyes, and I have added more bedding to the nest box, which is big enough for both tiels to be in it at the same time.
There are still two eggs that have not hatched, and the three babies are now 6 days old. I know the other two eggs won't hatch, but I don't want to remove them, because right now I'm afraid of touching the babies and having the parents kill them. I will post pictures when I get the chance to take more.

Egg's Cracking...
Re: Eggs have hatched.
That's just a myth. You can touch them and the parents will be fine with it, just wash your hands before and after you handle them. We always take the babies out and put them in a dish when we clean out the nest box and put new bedding in and have never had our cockatiels abandon or harm their chicks. We also have two babies right now and I looked in on them this morning when momma came out and it looks like they are opening their eyes too. You can also look at their crops to see if mom is feeding them, they will be full but empty before the next feeding.
