    Budiges

A have a pair of budgies and I am certain one is male but not quite sure of the other one. The male is about two years old and the other one is about 10 months. What I have noticed is that the younger one keeps chasing the male one around the cage often. When they do meet up at that session, they make hard noises and their beaks clashes like they are fighting. At other times, they kiss, preen, and rub against each other like they are totally in love.

From those statements above, can you say if the younger one is female?

Can you state why they are fighting or is it a game they are playing?

    ......................

I have thought them both to step up and they are comfortable on my finger especially the male one.

Well females don't really chase the males around it is usually the other way around but it would be easier to tell what sex it is if you gave us what the colour of the cere.
