Lawrence is going to the bird doctor tomorrow...

...but not because I noticed anything wrong with him, but because his cage mate died in the space of half an hour back in December and nothing seemed wrong with her either! didn't have time to get a necropsy done, so taking Lawrence up for a check-over and a chat with 's one of the practice's two avian vets (probably Mr Wildgoose, he's on duty Tuesdays, and yes, that IS his name!) about possible causes of Julie's death. Could any tests be run on a tail feather I pulled from her body? (I'd take poop but it was thrown away before I thought of it, plus I couldn't tell his and hers apart.) If nothing else, it's a well-bird check up, which I think I shall do every 6 months, just to keep an eye on him.

If anyone has suggestiuons about tests or questions, please post.

Exclamation Re: Lawrence is going to the bird doctor tomorrow...

Good to hear your bird is going to the vets because guess what lawrence is sick I read how Lawrence is getting very cuddly around you and after reading that i found out that on this website www.birdhotline.com/vet.htm I found out that when your bird suddenly gets cuddly around you it means that It is sick because it is depending on his bird mates to make him better...
I hope this is not all to quick, I hope he is not sick..
But if he is I hope he gets better!

When his cage mate died, he did get very cuddly, and I'm thinking he was missing Julie, he got really cuddly and was moe willing tro come to me and even my boyfriend, which he has never done before, That was on the same day that she died. I think he knew she was gione (he likely saw her die) amnd I think he was probably grieving. Since then, he's gone pretty much back to how he was, but I will mention it when I take him to the vet's, thanks, it's best tio give as much information as possible, so thank you!

I will post here how his visit goes.
