Anyway to heal a sick budgie without going to the vets?

Does anyone know if there is a way to heal a sick budgie without taking it to the vets.
Cause I'm not really allowed to take my birds to the vets......(it's always my dads decision to do things like that..doesn't matter how old you re In my family it's all about my dads decision...)
