Ham and the Vacuum Adventure
I know I'm going to get an earful from everyone!
Ham has never been afraid of the vacuum cleaner. When its off she loves to admire herself in the shiny chrome piping. If its on she actually gets a little aggressive towards it. So, I should have known.
I have been careless and use it without the attachment on the end if I am sucking up small things around her area. She's been camping out in a tv cabinet lately so I thought I would suck up any paper shreds in there. I got a little too careless as this time she went for the pipe and then SHOOOP there was half a lovebird sticking out of the pipe! I was panicked but reached for the off button at the same time as I was thinking I was sucking her brains out. Now that I look back it was funny to see half a lovebird running at the end of a pipe but I was pretty darn scared.
Luckily everything turned out ok. I guess she's too fat to get sucked in entirely and except for some ruffling was absolutely unharmed by the whole experience. But the attachment is now on.

Holy crap! I was gasping and chuckling at the same time - wrong? Perhaps. But I AM glad that Ham is a-okay. Good thing for those Amazonians Seriously, what a scare! Yet, is it wrong that I also am wishing you had a photo/video of it? I love the Ham...

Oh dear! I am glad she was too big for the tube, what a scare - but funny given she didn't get hurt. Poor little Ham.

That Ham!!!! Thank God she is a fatty. It wasnt your fault, them lovies are faster then anything out there and I could see it happening to many lovies I know. How hard was it to get her out of the tube? Ham is one lucky bird who keeps on doing these things that only Ham can do, thank goodness she is OK.
Hate to admit it but thanks for the giggle. I can picture her fat butt sticking out like that and it is just too funny not to laugh because we know she is OK.

She was only wary of it immediately after her experience. Now she is back to being a hen who demands some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Re: Ham and the Vacuum Adventure
Right now she's harder to locate than Saddam Hussein. She's bunkered herself in amongst a VCR and DVD player in a tv cabinet and the oven mitt no longer works for evicting her.

Re: Ham and the Vacuum Adventure
Maybe its time to put that oven mitt on and grab that little Ham out of there. I can only imagine the shreds of paper she is hiding back there from you.
I agree with Tim, we need to see more of Ham around here.

But knowing she's alright- I'm half falling off my chair laughing still
