HELP!!! My tiel isn't himself! he is..... please jus help!!!!
My 3 yr old tiel, Clex, isn't himself. I got him as a egg from a pet store. They said the moma had been killed by the dad and they had 3 eggs so I took them. Like they said they all hatched within 2 days. I hand feed them and had them a small nest cage.
When they got bigger a switched to a large tall cage with toys that I rotate, two fedders and two waters, a bird bath tub on the bottom a couple perches plenty of millet and held all of them each day and let them out for at least an hour but usually two. They would fly around play talk sing and every thing. I sold one. The other one fell in love with a fuzzy bell and always flies to his cage wen I take him out. The last one fell in love with me. He pecked me till I pet him. Screems wen I leave the room. Cuddles with me. Learned to step up, fly to his cage, talk, and even bring me a pnut wen. I through it and piont to it. He pushes it to me then jums on my leg and stares at me till I pik the pnut up.
But now he no longer let's me pet him, doesn't even touch the pnut, never talks, sings, or cherps. Ignores his toys. Still steps up and gets on my shoulder. But bites wen I cuddle him. Doesn't explore, play or sing wat so ever any more.
He is 3 yr old and has been acting like he is not himself for the last 2 months!
I miss my Clex and I'm starting to get scared of whoever has posessed him.
My sweet loving Clex has turned into a antisocial evil bat.
PLEASE HELP ME. I beg of you. I miss his old self

Cockatiels are very intelligent birds, and they also have a very keen ability to hide illnesses that they may acquire. I am of the opinion it would be a good idea for you to locate an avian vet, and give them a call. Make an appointment to have your little tiel examined. I've homed tiels for several years, and from what you have written, I do believe this change in behavior needs to be addressed promptly.

Sounds like he's very sick. You really need to take him to a vet. Please do it right away.

I already took him to an avian vet that I was told was realy good. He examined him and did sum other stuff but he said he couldn't find anything wrong.
He hasn't been hurt. He said he isn't sick and its not the age for puberty.
His brother, Silver, is fine so I don't think it has to do with genetics. He gets a nice temp. Room that is super quiet.
I jus don't know!!!!!

Male cockatiels reach puberty at about 21 months old. If Clex is 3 years old, he has reached adulthood. Is he doing any kind of funny dance on his perch with his tail rubbing on it? Are his wings and nails trimmed? With my last male, usually a nail and wing trim along with the beak being filed gave him a good attitude adjustment. When you brought Clex to the avian vet, did they do any kind of blood work or gram stains?

Even without puberty, males can still get hormonal which can cause mood swings. If the room is really warm, low nighttime hours, lots of excess food or dark areas to hide in not only females get nesty, males do as well. Mine will become a screamy, bitey, evil monster when his hormones are high and a few hours extra sleep usually work to put him back to normal. Also, sometimes a molt can be really bad on them if it's a rough one and can cause mood swings.
Other things can be a change in environment, if they feel insecure in their home (new furniture? something move? new scent? new paint?) they get antsy. Change in schedule (birds love a routine!), etc.
A physical won't tell the vet much, since most illness signs are seen through droppings/blood/cultures, so if the vet didn't do any lab tests, it is still possible he has some sort of illness he just isn't showing physical symptoms to yet.

The "funny little dance"-(self pleasing...) he use to every now. And then on the towl but not any more. Nothing is realy new,his room isn't cold or warm, its bout in the middle, he has two feeders and waters, and he doesn't get light in the room till the sun is a bit less then two thirds the way up so he gets at least 12 hours or dark, I have two dim night lights in there one on each side of the room, my mother said he did a internal exam on clex but I'm not shure wat that means besides inside test...
I still can't find out why!!!!!!
Help my little clex please!!!!!!!!!!!

He's back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!8D!!!!!!!
I had him sittin on my shoulder tryin to get him to talk, pointless attemp, then I yawned-and pop goes the birdy!!!!!
He sticks his head in my mouth and chirps repeadedly like wen he was a baby!!!
Then as soon as I puled me head away cuase it kinda scared/surprised/freeked me out, he sticks his head in my ear and started quietly chirping realy fast.
I wast sure wat had happened so I put my finger up to him and he bowed his head and stepped foward so I petted him.
Then he started whistling in our old tune we whistled.
I had a smile a hundred times bigger then the joker!
I new he was back if he whould fetch a pnut...
He did!!!!! I sat down and through a pnut about four feet away, he crawled dawn my shirt jumped off my leg onto d floor and went to d pnut, then nudged it with his beak bak to me, then jumped on my knee, looked at me and whistled.
I don't know wat changed but he's bak and that's all I care about!!!!!
Except one thing.... why did he pop his head into my ear and mouth!?!?!?!?
Cause its dark????, warm???, maybe he's jus crazy?!?!?!?!???

I think they like the way the sound works if they do it, my tiel loves to stick his head into your ears and mouth to make a noise and it's usually a pretty loud one mine will also try to clean my teeth, but he's not allowed to do that cause of germs.
Glad he's back to normal. It could be anything that set him off, maybe he was just feeling kinda down for some reason (who knows), winter blues perhaps? Another thing to monitor besides temps is humidity level though, if it gets dry from heaters etc they don't like it too.
