    Lethargic, Puffed Up Finch

My male Gouldian Finch has been lethargic and has been puffed up for several days and sleeping a lot. Should I be worried? He seems to be eating more than my female finch who is as active as ever and is I put my hand near him he will move... I'm just a tad bit worried about him is all.

    Re: Lethargic, Puffed Up Finch

Puffiness and lethargic behavior are usually signs of illness, if an abnormal amount - is he eating? How are his droppings? Is he staying near the bottom of the cage? Any other changes in behavior?

Usually by time birds are showing symptoms they are very sick, so if his behavior is abnormal enough to worry you - always best to err on the side of caution and call up the vet to at least discuss it.
