Best way to get my lovebirds tame
Hi, I have had my lovebirds for a week and I really want to get them used to me. At the moment they still move away from me when I put my hand in the cage. Does anyone have any tips on how to get them more tame? Many thanks

Re: Best way to get my lovebirds tame
You need to go slow with them, sit and talk to them, read, sing whatever to get them used to your voice. If they're OK with you by the cage, open the door and sit your hand just inside and sit still, 5-10 minutes at a time, until they get used to that. Then you can move to offering treat (long sticks work best) and shorten the stick as they get comfortable eating from you. If you have two, it is recommended to work one-on-one rather than with both as they are more nervous/prone to aggression and defensive behavior if they are together with their mate.
