    Unhappy Partly Flight-Trained Tiel Escaped

I was going to bathe my Tiel when a wind blew from nowhere. And Miko takes flight. Since the afternoon she was perched on a neighbour's roof. But I couldn't get to her cause my neighbour wasn't home. I've tried calling to her, placing her cage near me and even her usual tiel feed. She's still staying up there. It rained and she still stayed there. Now, it's already night time. When I checked on her just now, the neighbour was in, but she wasn't there... So cold out there...
When's a good time to look for her? And how else can I lure her back to me? I don't even have a net...

EDIT: She's only got two primary flight feathers unclipped. Tail and secondary flights are fully grown.

Keep her cage outside with food in it, she may come back down. Problem is, often tiels will get to high places when they escape, but they are too scared to come back down, because flying so high in wind is so new to them. Play anything she likes - a song, tiel songs, etc on a radio can help too. I hope she comes back. They can fly really far though even with clipped wings when outside, so be sure to make a wide search of the neighborhood. Also, place flyers around and call all the vets / animal parks / shelters in the area to let them know you are looking for an escaped tiel.

Red face Re: Partly Flight-Trained Tiel Escaped

Found her this morning perched on someone else's iron grille. Walked and walked since before dawn. She finally screamed and sang when daylight hit. Used a whistle to get her to respond.
Thanks a lot for the info anyways. ^.^ She was singing non-stop since she got back. Safe and sound.

Yay! Glad you got her back. If you want to take her outside, you can get a harness and train her to use it so she can't escape again.

    Thanks again Marrie. =)

Yeah I'm looking for one. Can't find any. =( Just a crazy idea, is jogging with her flying on a harness actually possible? She's been eager to fly. Especially from my hand to my shoulder. Recently I didn't have the time to play with her. Busy with homework... =.=
