I just discovered what my bird's name means
It was too funny. I first named my sun conure Connor, but it bothered me because it was too close to the term 'conure'. And besides, I discovered that a pain-in-the-neck teenager that likes to vandalize our neighborhood is named Connor. So, I changed his name to Kahnee several weeks ago.
Well, today I decided to look up the name to see if it was a real name. And, it is!! Except it's typically spelled 'Kani'. I prefer the spelling I chose, though.
It's a Hawaiian name. And, what meaning could be better for a noisy sun conure than a name that means "SOUND"?
It really cracked me up when I learned that.

Thanks, Marie!! It is a perfect name, LOL.
@Carolyn: My daughter and I both agree on a name, although I'm not yet settled on it. I usually like to name a bird after he's with me for a while. But, the name we both like so far is 'Bodhi'.
Since he's going to be an Indian Ringneck, I figured I'd name him after the Bodhi Tree, under which Gautama Buddha is said to have achieved enlightenment. I love the story of the Buddha. So cool how he was sheltered from the evils of the world when he was young and then was so touched by seeing a funeral procession that he sought to understand so many things about life.
Have you come up with a name for your new baby yet?

I plan on naming my baby "Tango". Since I plan on getting another tiel, I wanted a name that is associated with Aviation. Piper was named after the Piper Cub personal aircraft. "T" is for Tango in the ham radio alphabet. Pilot's use it to communicate to the control tower. So this spring, I will have Tango the Tiel.

Very cool! Thanks for the explanation of Piper's name. When I was about 10 years old, my dad took me for a flight in a Piper Cub. It was so weird. I had never flown before.

Flying in a personal aircraft is much different than flying commercial for sure. My husband has a Cessna 172. He has a pilot's license but hasn't flown in quite awhile. I have flown in a Piper Cub myself, what an amazing ride.
