Sunflower seeds?
I got my first bird of my very own on February twenty-fifth. He's a budgie, his name is Skeeter. He's adorable and was surprisingly calm and social when I first brought him home. He seemed pretty comfortable and loving for not being handled before, even at the pet store. He's a sweetheart and I couldn't love him more. I assume he's under four months old, by looking at website. However, my question is, can I give my budgie sunflower seeds as a treat?

Re: Sunflower seeds?
As a treat, yes they are fine. They are high in fat though, so limit them for a budgie. Also, the white striped ones are less fat than the little black ones.

Re: Sunflower seeds?
I agree with Marrie. And you also could consider trying some millet springs. Budgies love millet. It is an excellent treat for them and you can either hang a sprig of it in the cage, or you can break up the sprig in smaller pieces and scatter them around the cage floor, and perhaps hang a few pieces on the cage bars. I'm so happy for you that you have Skeeter. Budgies are very hardy and special little birds, and they almost always have a very sweet disposition, love to chatter, sing and play. Some even talk. I've homed budgies for years and years. Sounds to me like you and Skeeter are already becoming "best friends". Good luck!!
