My 8 year old male cockatiel suddenly developed an affection for some beads! This toy has been hanging, generally unnoticed, on his play gym for months. I set the toy on the table while I was cleaning his cage and he approached it, started very gently nibbling and nudging the two beads on the end, and promptly puffed up, tucked up one foot, and "sat" on the beads. He does not get aggressive when I pick him up to put him back in his cage but when I let him out he goes straight to the beads and does the exact same thing. This is 3 days in a row! Anyone else have anything like this?? The only thing he ever is this gentle and nice to is his favorite bell! Everything else is either edible, must be destroyed, or is boring. He rarely "loves" an object like this!
