Re: I got my baby today!
We'll work around the "time zones". I can "private message" for a "rooaarriinng (like the lion) reminder, around 2:15, so everyone will be on-board. Who knows, maybe this idea will go "viral"!! Nothing like an "around-the-world" bird-thday party!!!!! The bottom line is, if you can't meet your friends face to face, then go "virtual", with the hope you don't end up "viral" on the "Super Highway" of life!!! (the computer that is)!!!! Because the most important bird-thday parties in the whole wide world are that of our babies!!

I am leaning towards using the "General Discussion" forum, and I'll post my thread there. I'd rather stay with the "topic forums"!

Re: I got my baby today!
Oh no I am usually gone on the weekends because the hubby is off work then and we like to get out and explore our mountains here but if I am home that day you bet I will join in the brid-thday party. If not I sure will be looking at the pictures when I come home.
I just love how Kahnee and Misty take care of your babies Pat, that is so precious to hear they both choose a baby and have become there fid sitter. Your babies no longer look like babies in the last video you posted and soon they will just be big birds and part of your flock. I love Kahnee, if I ever do decide to get another bird I am debating getting a lovie or a conure because conures are somewhat like a lovie. Colorful and all of them I ever met were a bit crazy like my boomer was, I like them crazy and wild!

Deanna, I'll be posting pics of the prizes the fids got, the birdy cake, etc. etc. on my gallery, and I'm starting a thread on the "general discussion" forum also, so please feel free to stop by and join in anytime. The thread will be on-going!! I envy you being out in the mountains with your hubby on the week-end. I took a train trip to Seattle from Chicago back in the mid-80's and the train route was through the mountains of Montana. After that beautiful experience, I KNOW God lives there!

Well, I am happy that it is June 2nd. If it were the weekend before, like Deanna, I wouldn't be home. Memorial Weekend is the start of summer in Michigan. We open up our place in Northern Michigan (Lake City)..
@ Deanna: Just learned from our neighbors up north that there has been bald eagle sightings by the lake. I may see one in the wild after all. I will just have look very hard.

Pat, I happened to notice on your signature that Misty is 9 months old. Perhaps we can have a Bird-thday Party for your babies in August. I'm just amazed on how intelligent he is. Whistling the Andy Griffith theme song, birdy sitting and now coughing.

Carolyn, I'll bet your new baby, Tango will be traveling to the lake with you!! There absolutely is nothing comparable to a beautiful lake, the sound of the loons, a fishing pole all ready to catch a crappie or blue gill, OR a northern or walleye, and the peaceful setting all of it brings to your heart!

Re: I got my baby today!
Ellen, Uncle Scott will be staying with Tango while we are away that weekend. Usually that is our weekend of a lot of work. Getting the grass mowed, turning on the water and cleaning and removing all the bugs that decided to take residence inside during the winter. If we are lucky, we will be lucky if we get at least one day of fishing in. Fresh blue gill and walleye sure sound good right now.

Re: I got my baby today!
I hope you get to see a bald eagle in the wild Carolyn. I have seen quite a few out in the wilds and each time I see one I am just in awe at the beauty of seeing them. I live in God's land no doubt, we have eagles, bears, mountain lions and all kinds of creatures living in our woods here. Man dont scare me here it is the beasts you need to watch out for here!! I love it and every weekend me and the hubby love to take off a explore what is out our backdoor.
I may be home at the beginning of the bird party Ellen but if I miss it I will definitely check out the pictures on your photo album.

Re: I got my baby today!
Well, looks like we're getting ready to have a fun fun bird-thday party!!!
And I'm so happy that this thread looks like it's turning into Ye Olde Meeting Place!!!
We know we can all find each other here. LOL
@Deanna, hope all works out for June 2. Fingers crossed! Have a wonderful time exploring the mountains when you go...
Hope you post pictures of your adventures. I absolutely love the mountains but don't get a chance to go see them too much. Will love photos!!
@Ellen, I'll look forward to the thread you're posting and the pics of the party stuff!
@Carolyn, that's a great idea for a bird-thday party for Misty and Kahnee. They're the same age, just a couple days apart. I'm gonna change my siggie to put Kahnee and Misty together on one timeline, even though it won't be exact to the day, like I did with Gabby and Chauncey.
Now, update on the ringnecks: Looks like they're pretty much grown up. At 2 months old, today is the first day that Gabby's eye color is lighter so you can see that famous eye 'pinning'. I guess since Chauncey is lutino, his eyes won't change until a little later. Or, since he's younger it might happen in maybe 2 or 3 days.
And, it's so cute to see my birds play together. Misty is now an observer and Kahnee is now co-baby as well as baby-sitter. He lets me know when babies are hungry, then he plays hungry baby when the formula comes.
Chauncey is a lot larger than Gabby. Chauncey weighs 128 grams and Gabby weighs 105 grams. Very noticeable difference. And Chauncey's voice is deeper. Gabby's sounds higher pitched and, if I do say so myself, a bit more feminine, LOL.

Re: I got my baby today!
Pat, It seems impossible the babies are already 2 months old! Time flies when we are having "fun", for sure! Yes, I'll be creating my new thread before long. Just have to figure out exactly how I'm going to do it. You have the "perfect" family!! And you have sooooooo much experience and ability to care for all of them. Your "motherly" DNA shines right through this forum!
Deanna, Definitely you can stop by anytime to read all about our party. And also, you are welcome to go to my gallery if you would like to do so, and check my albums.
I'm sure happy that several of us encouraged you to keep this thread going Pat. Along with all of the pics and info you have provided, we also have made new friends. To me, there is nothing more special than a "birdy friend"!

I love my birdy friends here!
It does sound like perhaps Chauncey is a boy because he is bigger and has a manly voice. I love it when birds pin there eyes at you. When I go to visit Mango his eyes go crazy when I talk to him.

Re: I got my baby today!
Pat,
I can't believe how fast they are growing. Chauncey is 128 grams?? I must say he is a growing boy. I am so happy you brought him back to your flock. Seems like Kahnee is having fun with the rest of the flock. One day he will be co-baby then the next day he will be the sitter. He sure does have a unique personality. LOL!! Since Misty is the observer, he probably whistles to you a full report of what he has seen. Thanks for the update on the whole flock..

I love the way Gabby is so relaxed on the monitor that her foot is tucked! The messy faced baby pics are precious.
I hope Chauncey is a boy, if he isnt we all will need to do some adjustments and start calling him a girl. I do have to say I just love your Kahnee, he is so handsome and such a sweetheart to take care of your babies for you.

Re: I got my baby today!
Well, we'll know real soon whether Chauncey is a girl or boy. Can't wait!! He didn't even whimper when we pulled his feathers for testing. It doesn't hurt, and I much prefer to test feathers than to test blood. Blood tests require cutting the toenail past the quick so it will bleed. That means that they actually cut the vein in the nail. Ever have something get under your nail causing you to bleed? It hurts for days. Just imagine if someone deliberately cut you there.
Yes, I agree that Gabby looks 'angelic' at times. You might even say she's my little angel Gabriella, LOLOL.

Gabby and Kahnee look so happy and content being perched on your monitor. Wonder if there is a future for them in IT??
