Here's a new pic of all 4 babies in the nest today. The oldest is 14 Days old, and the youngest is just 5 days younger. What a difference just 5 days makes!

I like the picture of the bird 9-10 days old. That band just looks so big on his leg.

Thanks Bill. Ya, it ended up falling off twice. I finally got it on for good yesterday. Live and learn. :-)

Thanks for the pictures. They are getting big fast and I like how they all huddle up together with the one in the middle almost looking like his wings are spread out hugging the others.

Do you think some of them are going to be darker then the others? Or is it just the feathers coming in on the older ones that makes them look darker?

Thanks for your comments Deanna. Hmmmm...It's appearing that I didn'tmake the correct guess on Daddy's color. It's very difficult to tell the difference between a SF Violet Blue and a D Blue. Even harder on a Pied because you never know in each spot how much of the color has been reduced. Lord Elrond's underside was so light I guess I just assumed he couldn't have a dark factor. It's looking like he did, and I already knew Elwing had one. So it appears that the two oldest babies have inherited one dark factor from each parent, making them Grey. The second oldest baby looks like it's Pied also because I see some white coming in on the wings, but the oldest baby I'm still not sure if he's solid, Dom Edged, or Pied. Maybe I need a couple more days to say for sure if they're both Double Dark factor babies, but it's sure looking like it.
As far as the younger two babies go, yes they will darken up as their feathering progresses, but they may or may not be as dark as the two older babies...they may actually be SF violets or SF Violet Pieds.

I cant wait to see these four grow up and no matter what color they turn out to be I know they will be awesome looking birds. If I never told you this before but daddy is one of my favorite lovies of all of them I have seen. His colors are without a doubt something very rare and just so pretty that every time I see him your avatar I just fall in love with him all over again.

Aww...thanks Deanna! I'm biased of course, but I agree...he's a stunning bird. lol I took a new photo of Daddy and Mommy yesterday when I was photographing the babies. I'll post it later this evening when I have more time. He's become darker with age, but I actually believe his color is better than when he was pre-adult.

Here's a pic of the parents Deanna. I think I accidently deleted the one from yesterday on my cameras media stick. This pic is from right after the first baby hatched.

I covered the bottom of the nestboxes in Carefresh Ultra, then I give them daily Timothy Hay in which they construct and maintain their nests.
