He has grown!
He has grown!
He sure has grown!! He's soooooooo "handsome" and looks happy and healthy!
He sure has!! Looks like quite the character, as well as being so darn CUTE!! Thanks for posting the photos. I love looking at them. I especially like him next to your dog, and with his peanut. But he's adorable in all the photos, so it was a tough choice. You did an excellent job photographing him!
All seven of the flock are 3 years old already! Tubbie and Sweetie are looking forward to their 4th birthday. Pretty good for sparrows!
Thank everyone! You guys got it right when you said that he is quite the character. He's so funny. He talks a lot more than we thought he would. I kept seeing in articles that Tiels will mimic more than they will talk. But he talks A LOT. And whistles a lot. A lot of the articles I read said if the Tiel does talk, it's very breathy and hard to understand. We can understand P'nut quite well. There is so much info out there that it is hard to decide what is fact and what is fiction. Thank goodness for message boards like this one that have very experienced people on it willing to help those that are like me. Not so much experienced. I love the pic I got of him cracking a peanut shell. We were calling him "cannibal bird" LOL. Our dog is 3/4 black lab and 1/4 who knows what lol. He's a great dog. He is 6 years old. He will be 7 in Sept. He's good with our rats too. He's my buddy.
Hehe he sounds like a fun tiel and he's growing up so pretty! My tiel does mimic more than he talks and when he talks, only his parronts can understand him - he's only learned four words total and just repeats them over and over, so how well a tiel talks is up to the bird. The little guys don't talk as clear as the big ones, so most articles are really comparing their talking to something along the lines of a macaw or grey, which compared to a larger parrot they aren't as clear. Not to say you can't understand them, but the big birds can be mistaken for human (my mothers grey confuses the dogs and my grandmother talking, my grandmother thought there was a strange man in the house).
I think your right that big birds talk clearer then little birds, Mango can talk super clear and his laugh sounds just like a human laughing next to you.
P'nut is sure cute, I just love it when you can tell a bird is happy just by looking at them and p'nut definitely looks like a happy bird. I never knew tiels could talk lots so that just makes your P'nut a little more special then he already is. Thanks for the pictures!
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
