Brand New Egg
UPDATE on mommy not being nice
So i had said that they mom and dad had started mating again....well i was planning on taking the mom out so the dad could finish weaning babies and so they would stop mating but today i noticed how big she looked! SHES GOING TO LAY AN EGG AT ANYTIME! ugh!!! WHAT NOW??? originally i had "rescued" these birds and now i dont know what to do. we were planning on giving the mom and dad to a good friend of my mom who is a bird lover and has had many lovies before but now what? he was actually expecting me to bring him the mom tomorrow and i was going to keep the dad until the babies were weaned and maybe for a couple weeks after so mom and dad has some time apart. but now that shes going to start laying i feel bad changing everything up on her. we now have 4 bird cages and its to much. the mom is alone and i got a new cage today and put the babies and dad in it. the other two cages are different birds. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? give my moms friend the mom in her cage with the nest box? keep her until babies are older? hard boil the eggs??? how long should i keep mom and dad separate?? THANK YOU

Should keep her until she's done laying. Replace the eggs with plastics, or boil them to prevent them hatching.

Re: UPDATE on mommy not being nice
Let her finish laying her eggs. As for the friend to give the bird to, simply tell her exactly as you have posted in this site. She will understand.
