Hello. I have a young wild crow in my possession that was fine for the last few days. Last night it started breathing with it's mouth open. It did this for about 3 hour. Had a fever. I gave it droplets for water by finger for half an hour and this morning it's fever seems to have broke. It is energetic and behaving normally however I have noticed it's caw is quieter then it was and have seen it moving it's beak like it's chewing. Poop seems to vary from normal looking to slightly runny. I have seen bubbles in two random droppings. color is normal. Food intake is every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, 3-8 cc of a mix of human and bird baby powder, calcium powder, protein powder, mashed beef liver and beef kidney, ground dog food and mashed pinky mice. The only vet in the area did not wish to work with it and I have no transportation options to a wildlife rehab until next week. I have a good report with it's parents and bring him to them every morning since he left the nest. Leaving him on the ground was not an option as it's above a walkway between a grocery store and a busy street. He'd be roadkill like his siblings. I had hoped he would be flight capable soon for a better release, but that's a minimum of 2 weeks away. Without vet care I am uncertain his condition will stabilize before transportation to a better facility is possible. i have access to most treatments but no vet training for dosage. Seeking any advice other then just get him to a vet. I got that one already. It will be accomplished as soon as it can. Any fluid/feeding mixes, temp info, physical action I can do to prolong his health would be appreciated. If his health worsens I have considered medicating him with available anti-bionics. I have tetracycline and fluconazole as well as bird specific pro-bionics. This is the best I can do until mid June when I will have a ride to a rehab unless the vet changes his mind. Thank you!
