What a good looking doctor you have there Pat!! I am sorry you had to go to the hospital, were you allergic to the habanero's or was it the spicy hot that made your body go crazy? How horrible and I bet your friend is feels awful knowing she made something that sent you to the hospital.
I just love Kahnee

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
Isn't my doctor gorgeous? LOL! Yeah, my doctor gave me the right medicine, too. He's 'in practice' dontcha know? LOL. He's practicing his kissing sounds, so I got lots of kissies from him. Perked me right up! That's the kind of doctor you can just fall in love with, hee hee hee!
No, I'm not allergic to habaneros but the salsa was way too hot and wreaked havoc on me. My friend feels bad, and I wish I could have kept it a secret from him, but he was here visiting with all of us when I got sick. But that's okay. We have a special friendship and something like that won't get in the way. I introduced him to his very first girlfriend when he was a youngster, and 34 years later, he's still in love with her!! Unfortunately, she lives in Hawaii.

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
Hi Pat,
So sorry to hear that habanero chilis sent you to the hospital. I never had them but I most certainly will take your advice. You sure have a great doctor - patient relationship. Dr. Kahnee is such a sweetheart and to top it off, he is very handsome. Hope you feel better soon. Sending you hugs.

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
I sure wasn't expecting to find the picture of you in the hospital, Pat. I do know that when one handles any sort of hot pepper, they don't ever want to touch their face, or especially the eyes, because it can literally burn the skin, and the eyes. You are so very fortunate to have Dr. Kahnee living with you. He sure is a "handsome dude", and looks to me like he really knows what he is doing with that syringe!! In fact, I would say he probably knows more about it than some of the Docs I have visited. Last summer, my family doctor insisted I have another pneumonia shot because 10 years had passed by, and I told him I got an allergy to the first one. "Oh, no", he said, "You won't get an allergy to this new one, because it is a different shot with new ingredients in it". Of course!! I took the shot, and within 24 hours I was miserable, having the same symptoms as I had 10 years before. It took about 10 days for me to snap back out of it. So, you definitely are fortunate to have Dr. Kahnee!! I KNOW he will never tell you one thing and do somethingelse!! Not Dr. Kahnee!! Sending you a big hug and wing flaps and beak kisses to your flock from mine!

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
Thanks Carolyn and Ellen. Yeah, I'm sure lucky I have my good ole doctor that makes house calls. That is, he squawks and calls all day in the house . One of my tenants just got out of the hospital today. He had an appendectomy that had taken a nasty turn. I told him it was too bad he didn't have Dr. Kahnee to take care of him. And when I saw my primary care doctor today, I told her that I had seen another medical provider after I left the hospital and she looked surprised - until I showed her Dr. Kahnee's picture. ROFLMAO!
So sorry you went through that, Ellen. That's a terrible thing for a doctor to do. Reminds me of when my daughter was young. When she was 4, she had anaphylactic shock from penicillin. Then when she was 7 she got the flu and I told the doctor she was allergic to penicillin. So, the doctor writes me a prescription for - you guessed it - penicillin. I reminded her that Andrea couldn't have penicillin so she said, 'oh, that's right' and went off to write a second prescription - yep - for Pen VK. I told the doc that it was penicillin, too. So she went out and wrote a third prescription - this time for Vicillin K. DUH!! I finally told the doctor to prescribe erythromycin, which she did. I mean, where did they get their medical training? I guess at a school where they don't teach language comprehension.

And I personally think this is the worst time of the last 50 years as far as Doctor care is concerned. If I had an entire page to write about the experiences I've had with them over the last 10 years, it would even "curl" Kahnee's feathers!! (lol) Have a wonderful 4th of July week-end and holiday, Pat! Sending beak flaps and wing kisses from Ollie and Muffin to your "bunch"!!!

I think that Dr. Kahnee has always wanted to be a doctor ever since he was little. Here's a picture of Young Dr. Kahnee taking lessons from Young Nurse Misty:

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
I work in a Doctor's office with four family practice doctors, a nurse practitioner, a Physician's assistant and a pediatrics doctor. We are looking for another doctor for Peds, would Dr. Kahnee and Nurse Misty like to join our team?! They would sure fit in with all the other medical staff's squawking and yelling! I'm sure nurse Sharon would be willing to share her office with Nurse Misty as well as all her munchies!

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
Oh my that is the most adorable Doctor I have ever seen! And yeah, habaneros are TOO hot, I don't see how anyone eats them... I cooked with them one time and for three days the juices on my hands made my face burn if I forgot and touched my face, no matter how many times I washed my hands to try to get it off. Ugh.

Re: Thank you, Dr. Kahnee
@Ellen: yep, they've been in 'practice' now for a while and are doing great, LOL!
@Sinthea: I passed on the word and Nurse Misty is all excited about Nurse Sharon's munchies! That's Nurse Misty's specialty! And, Dr. Kahnee is getting lots of experience in Pediatrics. He has excellent bedside manners with babies:

@Marie: I use habanero powder to keep dogs from doing their business on my front lawn - and it WORKS! But the first time I used it, the powder got on my hands and face. Like you, I couldn't stop the burning for 2 or 3 days, even though I washed dishes, scrubbed my hands and put lotion on them - all to no avail. Felt like a miserable sunburn.

Pat,
I just love when you post pics. You really do know how to capture a moment. Looks like both Misty and Kahnee are pro's with the syringe. Must be nice to have a Doctor Kahnee and Nurse Misty in your household giving you so much TLC

They are a lot of fun. And when I took a second look at that photo of Kahnee and baby Gabby, I thought it would be cute to photoshop a stethoscope on his neck.

Oh dear they would fit right in! Do you mind if I print the picture of the Dr and his Nurse for work? One of our peds rooms is themed on birds and I know that would make the kids smile.

Oh, for sure! All the photos I post on here are open for anyone to copy if they'd like.
And, I'll give you a couple more if you'd like, that I feel would surely make the kids smile. Here they are:
Gabby Renee's 'nursery school' photo:

and, Nurse Misty talking to the Easter Piggy:

Do with them what you will
