Question Are they sick? or do i worry to much?

    hi everyone

I was wondering if my budgie Jeff is sick...he seems a little constipated from time to time because his bottom feathers fluff a little bit then comes out the poo after a few seconds but the poo is completley fine!
My budgie Greens' poop is fine but it seems like her tail is a little bit too verticle but my birds still preen day and night and chirp and eat!

are they sick or am i too worried?

I don't think you have to worry about them. In my opinion, if they were to do really watery poops, and sit all fluffed up on their perches with their eyes closed, and not be playing with each other, and being really lethargic, . . . . then I'd be worried and would seek medical attention for them. If they are only on a seed diet with no extra fresh fruits and veggies, that can also make their poops rather "dry". But as long as the poops are dark colored with some white in them, I think your little ones are fine. Be sure and give them a water cup with plenty of water, and try to clean the cup a couple of times a day and put fresh water in too.

yes their poo is still greeny and has white in the middle which is good and they run around the cage all day shouting and chirping talking to eachother and preening eachother which is a good sign i know!
and i feed my budgies this oat weed thingy well it has seeds in them and it is healthy for them i know because i have fed it to previous budgies but they only drank the juice...my budgies now actually eat the weed!

and ty for replying trhat is a good thing to know that my budgies are still fine and not sick!

You are quite welcome, Britany. That's what the forum is about . . . . to ask questions, and get advice when we see something that might concern us about our little budgie friends!

Our birds were not having a dump for a long time, so a bit of Ex-lax (a very small piece) seemed to do the trick. There was dung everywhere and we had to clean out the cage four to five times a day. Last time I'll use Ex-lax on budgies.
