how often is too often for bathing?
In the heat we've had Sammy's been bathing two or three times most days.
As he's a picker, I'm a little worried about making his skin dry or itchy. So is that something that lots of bathing will cause? Do i need to add something to the water to make sure this doesn't happen?
thoughts anyone?
thanks x

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!

I've heard from other members of the forum that if you add some natural aloe (with no alcohol) to the water it can help soothe his skin. I don't remember the proper ratio though...

Tini bathes more than normal in the heat. Without it, she seems MORE itchy and preens more. I think she knows what she needs. We've been without A/C so far this summer and we've have some ridiculous weather and she just knows when she needs to bathe. And this has not caused her to pick at her leg any more, if fact, I think she has left it alone more than normal. Personally, I wouldn't stop him from his baths!

Re: how often is too often for bathing?
We have to give Sammy baths... he doesn't have one in his cage. We tried that. The water has to be freshly run and slightly warm for his royal highness here lol
But he's pretty good at letting us know when he wants one. He'll start tapping and licking at our glasses and bouncing up and down. It's pretty cute. We'll let him have his baths when he wants them then x I'm glad to hear Tini's doing well x
If he keeps asking lots tho, I'll chuck some aloe in (although he usually gets grumpy when I add anything... spoilt price lol)

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!

I think it might be one part aloe juice (ONLY aloe juice, make sure there isn't any other stuff in it) to eight parts water.
