Is there an egg in there??

I have a question and could use some advice from anyone who may have had a gcc who laid an egg. I've noticed my Alex getting a little more rounded near his tail over the last week or so, I tried to capture a picture of it. he (maybe she?) is 4 and a half years old, and great health, any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Wished I could really help you but I never have seen a bird ready to lay a egg. If you noticed Alex's rear end getting bigger I would say it very much could be a egg because I heard they do get egg butt when they are ready to lay. I also heard that they tend to not poop as much and when they do it is huge. Has Alex laid a egg yet since you posted this last night? It sure looks like it has a big butt to me too in this picture and Alex is a real cutie too.

I guess my question now becomes what to do with the egg. Alex has no interest in it at all, it's just sitting on the bottom of the cage, on top of some shredded paper although she has been a lot more needy with my lately. That's kinda fading back to her usual personality too.

You can always take it out and if she seems freaked out that it is gone just put it back in for a little bit longer.

LOL many female parrots dont show interest in their eggs until they are done laying once they are done laying eggs they start to care for them. Even when they arent fertile.
