From what I have read Do not use reptile lights for birds.
But sorry i cannot confirm this is true or not.
Both bulbs I'm looking at are 26" watt compact fluorescent bulbs with UVB but the avian is almost double the price. Is there a major difference?

R.I.P my little ones.
I use a human light bulb above my bird.
He seems to like it![]()
Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!
Helen, the human light bulbs in the US are all florescent and LED's now so they do not put off heat anymore. I have heard the reptile bulbs have a coating on them, maybe a Teflon coating that when it gets hot it will off gas and kill your bird so I would not recommend using one at all.
