    misty and pookie

I took the ladies to see the vet today. Pookie weigh s in at 68grams. 2less then last time. Dr. ako, says she's thin but not over skinny. He trimmed her beak back to normal length, and we are hoping that that will help her gain weight. I do recall her gaining after a beak trim in the past, some might have to make it a regular thing. But everything else with her looks good.
We talked about Misty and her flights. And we ended with a slight trim. Yes, I am feeling very guilty, but she was trying to stay out at night, and she was not trusting my daughter and husband anymore, because they had to grab her to get her into the cage. With her lack of fear of the cats, I was afraid of what could happen. She can still fly, just not as high. She's about 2months out for another molt. So we will see.

The slight trim will not be a problem at all. We have to use common sense and good judgment with our feathered friends' care.

I'm happy to hear they got a great report from the Vet!

I am happy that both of them checked out good at the vets. It always makes us parronts feel great when they have good checkups. I use to keep Boomers wings trimmed a little bit as well because it just worked better for us to have them trimmed so he didn't have full flight. We sometimes have to do things like trim there wings for their own good and I think it hurts us more then it hurts them.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
