    Green Cheek Conure Biting :-(

So I have had my GCC Jack for almost 2 years now. He has never bit me before. He would horse play a little but never bite to break the skin. 4 days ago, he bit me really hard & I told him no & put him back in his cage. Took him out of his cage bout 30 min later & he bit really hard again. The next day, he charged my hand, & flew after my face. Looks like someone took a can opener to my hand. Now I can't even take his food & water dishes out without gloves. I know conures usually go through birdy puberty between 2-3 years of age could this be what is happening & he's getting territorial?
I mow lawns during the summer, could the smell on my clothes, or smell of the sunscreen be making him bit even though I am taking a shower before handling my birds? Or maybe the fact I am sunburnt he doesn't recognize me?
My other birds all have mates, could he be jealous of that?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
I do have Jack an appointment with my avian vet so hopefully they have some kind of info or idea of why he is suddenly biting.

My daughter has the same problem with her conure except he does it only to guys and never bites her. A breeder told us it was puberty and he has gotten lots better after a few months.

Yeah Jack would bite anyone who would come over but never bite me. He only started biting these last couple days. I got a pair of cotton gloves so I can handle him & he doesn't bite through the glove but will kick his feet out & rub his bottom on the glove, so I'm assuming he's going through puberty. Hopefully the biting will stop when he's done.

That does sound like hormones to me. Boomer use to rub on things and have his moody weeks. He would bite like crazy and thankfully it passed in a few weeks.
