The spam bots are unable to get in the normal way, due to the extra security measures. But, apparently they now are trying to access user accounts by login attempts. These scripts can only access the most insecure common word passwords, so make sure your password is a number/letter mixture and you should be safe.
I will send a mail to Dan to see if maybe there is an option on the forum software to allow separate display / usernames so they can't just go through the user list and find targets that way.

My guess is there is not much that can be done.
And whoever is trying will not be getting the warnings, as these will go to the correct owners email address.
It annoying as those who are getting the warnings think it is something to do with this forum or our fault. Which is not the case.

Yeah, it is annoying. Likely they're just running the basic script, which tries "password" and then other common words to try to break past our security since they can't register anymore. But, short of being able to separate display names and login names (which I am not sure this forum software can do...) there isn't much we can do to stop that. It's like SWTOR and other games that display names are your login names, people will try their scripts to crack them just cause they're there.
One thing people should note is forums tend to be less secure than other things due to lack of secure connections, so please do not use the same password for your forum accounts ANYWHERE that you use for anything financial/personal. We have not been breached, but some major forums have in recent months and that is how Gmail and such "hacks" happened (they were just publishing emails linked to some major forums and the passwords they used there, many of the gmail accounts passwords were different though).

You can go to "settings" at top right and hit "edit email & password" on the left hand menu and change your password

I have failed login attempts for sites with the credentials that are correct... the problem is not my login details what gives?? the sites are Buffer, Khaces, Twitpic and Yfrog... I think I am going to remove them from my account.
The thing that troubles me if this is going on with me and others post are not getting to my accounts how many of mine are not getting through?
I'm sorry, I do not know what you are referring to. ARe those other sites you are going to? Or are those linked to your tailfeather's account?
