    Re: Food question

Personally, I feel that a bird should have a seed diet with veggies and other foods, and if pellets are fed they should be only about 20% of the seed mix. A good seed to try is Topps or Avian Science Volkman. Topps also has an organic pellet that I would recommend. You can find all of these on Amazon. The Topps brand is also known as Totally Organic.

I think they need some seeds as well. It is something all wild birds eat and I just think they need them.

    Re: Food question

    Taken from Bird Channel
"Conures are opportunistic omnivores, (they will eat about any food they find while foraging). They eat includes fresh seeds and nuts, fruit, leaf matter, flower buds, insects and grubs."

    Taken from VCAHospitals.com
"Quakers eat a variety of seeds, nuts, fruits, berries and vegetation such as leaf buds and blossoms in the wild. Some eat insects and their larva."

Have you thought about sprouting for them. A great way to get them on a healthy diet, and away from processed foods.

Seems to me they eat about the same foods in the wild. And both 'Need Seed' No mention of pellets though! Guess they have yet to find a pellet tree.
Can I ask Why! You feel you need to feed pellets?
You could join Raw Avian Whole Foods and Happy Healthy Parrots (No Pellets) for good advice on feeding natural foods.
    R.I.P my little ones.
