    New adventure with Zebra finches

It's been a long time I wanted to go back with my first love : finches

I started birds with cut-throat finch, black-throated finch, zebra waxbill and red avadavat. I had to sell all of them when I had to move to another region, now I'm back with Zebra finches.

The 2 couples are formed, I'm going to put the nests something like today
Maybe new pictures of babies soon.

Beautiful. You have a few great mutations. They should hatch out some real beauties. Love the sound of a room filled with the sound of Zebra's.

    Stephanie,
One of the best Zebra and finch breeders I know lives in Jacksonville, Florida. His name is Van To, and has won many national awards here with his unbelievable birds, and gorgeous Zebra's in colors I had never scene. His birds and himself can be reached and conversed with on a Facebook page/group named. First Coast Finch and Softbill Society. Go onto facebook and join that group so you can see his and talk. Seriously, his birds are spectacular, and he is one of the best and most winning finch people in the US.

I hope this time around you it least get a few babies from your finches. These little birds are one of my favorites to listen whenever I go into the bird stores.

Re: New adventure with Zebra finches

Comfortable is a loaded question, HA I am not a finch person so I know just enough to be dangerous. I know a mutation when I see it, but there are so many now, I couldn't say what any are. The person I recommended, Van To is a great guy and has won all the top awards with his birds. His Zebra's are spectacular and he continually has stunning mutations. I say that because he spouts off the mutation letters like nothing and I just sit there and shake my head like I have a clue about what he just said. Go onto the First Coast Finch and Softbill Society facebook page, join it and talk. There are a many people on there that are experts and are very nice and will take the time to talk. Van started in Canary's and never really got a feel for them, he then had a chance to sit and speak with one of the best finch people at a show. The light when on and the fire was ignited. He got rid of all his canary's and jumped into finches with both feet. Since then he has taken off and I believe was the second highest points gather-er with his finches last year in the country. So my point is, he's been there at the frustrated place, banging his head and trying so hard, then found his calling with finches and just took off. His birds are spectacular. Now you'd be surprised at a true zebra compared to what most people see in stores. A true Zebra is 50% bigger than what you'll see in a store. Go to their facebook page and start talking with some great people. I will add, beware, some will make you feel bad, their cages are literally like 10 star hotels. I am not kidding, some of them, their birds live in huge absolutely amazingly beautiful cages that in some cases are mini environments, rocks, plants, branches oh my.

They are 2 in the nest, it was really dirty inside, so I cleaned it a bit, just hope it's not going to disturb the parents.
Some FB people told me they were CFW Chestnut Flanked White
