Any tips?

Hey guys. So this is nowhere near birds haha, but I rescued a chihuahua. Idk if you know, but if we see an animal in need, no matter what specie, we help it out. So we seen an AD about a FREE CHIHUAHUA. After talking to the owner, we found He puked whenever he ate and shook a lot of the time, and they couldn’t afford vet bills. So of course we couldn’t leave him. He is sooo skinny. All bones (back, ribs, tail, shoulder blades) are very visible. According to them, Long story short, he was in a crate in their basement since September, (all the time except feeding/watering, going to the bathroom) when they moved and also got a bull dog. The funny thing is, the bull dog is fat as can be, AND has hip problems and goes to the vet monthly. I don’t understand why they couldn’t take him one time to see what his problem is. I honestly think it’s neglect. I got him 12/10, at about 5 pm, I’ve been feeding him small amounts, very often, and he hasn’t puked yet. Oh and shaking? Every chi does that. I have theee, my sister has one, and my aunt has like 6, so trust me I know haha. I honestly think he looks a little better today. He is going go to the vet, i don’t have a date yet though. Any certain things I should have them check for?

You are so sweet to take this little dog in and really do hope you can help him gain some weight and get healthy again. It is so sad that the bull dog was a big fatty and this little one was not in the main house and skinny as can be and you may be right that it was just neglected. Poor little guy

Thanks Deanna. He has already gained 8 ounces!!! Whohooooo! He gets along great with my other dogs, in fact, one of my dogs was protecting him.

I just go GRRRR when I read about animals that are mistreated like this little dog. They are such fragile and tiny dogs, it is a miracle he survived. I know for sure he could not have met a more loving person toward animals and birds than you. And I KNOW you will see him through and help him 100%. Keep us posted!!
