    Guine pigs and budgies together?

Hi everyone I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this thread or not but basically I have a question about keeping budgies and guineas together. I'm not sure if it's been answered already or not so sorry about that (I only registered today). So I have 4 Guinea pigs and they live in a 6ft X 4ft shed connected to a 12ft X 4ft run (it's 6ft tall also) and the guineas never really use the run even though they have access to it although sometimes they run around in it a bit. They also have a run on the grass that they're in for most of the day. So I was wondering whether I would be able to have some budgies in their run if I made it fully bird proof and gave them perches and everything. It just seems a bit of a waste of space when the Guineas don't use it much. The guineas would still have access to it though. The substrate would be something like hemp as it's quite cheap and every month or so I'd clean it all out and put a new layer in. So I just wondered what people's opinions on this are as I've read lots of mixed opinions on it on other sites.

Also atm their run has lots of plants and bushes in it so they have lots of shelter and cover to hide in.

    thanks everyone

Edit: sorry about the typo in the title, I can't work out how to change it xD

I honestly can't answer your question. I know I would worry about a budgie down on the bottom might get attacked by a Guinea pig but really I think the budgie would see it coming and fly away. Also the bird poops might effect the birds or the guinea pigs might effect birds. But then like you said one stays on the too and one stays on the bottom so it could work.

Is there any way to build a plexiglass cage on the top, that would be wide and somewhat deep and long like an aviary or a big cage. You would need to cut some square holes in the sides and find a way to cover them so that they would get plenty of air. On the bottom you could put some ink safe newspapers. Change the newspapers often. Make a door to enter the cage and then find a way to put some tree branches or perches inside. In my view that would make a great place for budgies to live, and like Deanna shared, the poop would not be an issue. And they would not be close to the guineas. I also would not want to allow the budgies in there without some type of enclosure.

Okay thank you everyone after having some more opinions I think it's better that they don't live together, as I want what's best for the 2 species, but I'm still thinking about getting budgies, so I think we're going to buy an aviary instead and put it somewhere else in the garden :3

That sounds like a great idea! If you do put one up, would you please stop by and share some pics of the project and your new budgies? We would love to see them!

Gunie pigs easily sick. If not eat fresh grass. So you should not share with other animals. If you do not have sufficient cleanliness. แทงบอล sbobet
