well so the female canary has dropped an empty egg (with yolk in it only)
but when I tried putting them together she started attacking the male just like I thought she would
so I split them and I don't know what to do

Are you specifically wanting to breed them? I am not experienced with breeding canaries, 5 borders might be the person to answer any questions about that, but if you are not wanting to breed them it sound like they are happier for now in separate cages where they can see each other. Keep the calcium up to the female if she starts laying etc.

she dropped like 10+ infertile eggs already and is currently about to drop another one because she is exhausted
    how can I stop her?
I don't want something to happen to her due to exhaustion
and when they are together, they fight, so

It's not a problem for her to lay eggs but make sure that you don't take them away from her. Put a nest in there and let her sit on them until she completely loses interest. She will leave the nest only to eat or drink for a few weeks. She keeps laying as she is trying to replace the removed eggs. This can be a problem if you let her keep lying day after day. You can also get fake eggs or marbles to put in there for her to sit on if she breaks the eggs. She should have 4 or 5 in her nest and will sit on them. Maybe swap them out after a couple days. Please post a new post in the "other birds" s cation at the bottom. Rudi is in there quite often and will absolutely give you advice on how to care for her. Give lots of egg shell (shell only) and broccoli for calcium and make sure there is a cuttlebone in there at all times - she really needs the calcium or could get very sick. It will help a lot!

I put them together again because the female was extremely horny from the male's singing, which I haven't heard in a while before today
they still sometimes yell at themselves and spread wings but it's not as bad as I thought it would be
I try to calm them with canary singing videos when they're aggressive and they've got loads of various food (for canaries of course) in the cage

****, he ''jumped'' at (or rather, on ) her three times yesterday, and at LEAST once today
looks like putting them together was a good idea, seeing as they're enjoying themselves (at least during those times)

Re: bought a female canary for my male canary

is it okay when they sex like fifty times a day? not counting times when they are kissing (that's really cute)
the female stopped dropping eggs as soon as I put them in the same cage
which is good UNLESS not laying eggs somehow affects them (their mood)
