    Whoa!!!! That is amazing!!! What a beauty this one will be when all finished with new feather colors. She/he is already gorgeous!

    It's a male, the head of the females stay gray.

    Plum-heads aren't really cage birds they need a big flight room in contrast to the moustached who doesn't not fly so much

    In my experience with all the different species I own, the Psittacula group have the most extreme molt.
    The first time my Moustached had their molt I've even thought they were sick
    Ugly 2 months but amazing the 10 other months

    I have never seen a adult bird having so many new feathers. I have only seen babies that look like your poor guy does, he must be miserable.

    It's a "he", when in adult color you can easily differenciate genders, generally with Psittaculas it happens in their third year.
