    Re: Stephane's roseicollis 2017

They abandonned the eggs 3 days after the last egg. Possibly disturbed by wild birds always on top of their cage.
I covered the top of the cage with plywood, now the female have a round belly and continue to build the nest, we'll see what next...

Another female is in the same state (green x pallid)

I put my new opaline orange mask with my male orange mask and I have a good feeling.

They're sleeping in the nest. None of them are sexed but I'm sure the Opaline is a female and I always thought the green OM was a male, and he's feeding her all day long, I hope to find an egg one morning.

The turquoise really don't want to take care of their eggs I think I'm going to change the cage of place.

For the both orange mask I was right, first egg today so 50% of of the chicks will by orange mask and the other 50% Opaline orange mask.
And 3 eggs in the nest of the Pallid.

I'm sorry that the tourquoise are ignoring their eggs. I really enjoy reading about bird behavior. Is there anything that you think might have caused that behavior?

I will be looking for updates on the new eggs!! Good Luck!

A lot of house sparrows are always perched on the top of their cage, it could be the reason.

They live in the top section of this kind of installation

I want to try to put them in the middle section, I think they will be less disturbed like that.

I love the cage! You buy some cheap pinwheels and put them on the roof. Or anything that moves in the wind.

    Sorry the abandoned the eggs.

Haha, the only reason I thought of pinwheels that spin in the wind is because I bought a few cute ones today to put in my front yard. I was going to buy some bigger ones but thought they might scare the birds away that I feed outside.
