The pair are beautiful. The baby will look that good also. They are a very pretty species.

The green ones always make my heart thump because they remind me of my sweet Boomer. But those blues for some reason are just so pretty to me and makes me want to give them a little birdy squeeze

    Re: Stephane's roseicollis 2017

Only ONE green this year, it's a first, generally people didn't like green because theyre "hard to sell" but I like them a lot, I though I would never get one this years.
Mom will have hard work, on the picture there is only 2 chicks but one hour later a third hatched and I heard a fourth "cried" in the shell.

This female had only one fertile egg in her life, now she had to take care of 4 cheeks the same days, poor her

My Lutino with no fingers, 5 eggs, 5 fertile, I'm a bit worried, I'll keep you all up to date.

    Re: Stephane's roseicollis 2017

They're 4 in the nest, already banded, I have 1 nest with a chick to come and another with 5.
Sadly my camera flash don't like me too much these time, so I'l try tomorrow in the sunlight or with my phone/

But I have a lot of chicks, too much, not any spare cage, fortunately showtime are coming. (and something is tickling me...)

Stephane you are definitely very busy! And these babies are just so adorable! I can't believe how they look when they have just hatched without their feathers, they are so pink Are you going to be selling most of these chicks or do you keep lots of them for yourself? Is it hard to let them go or do you try to keep your feelings out of it? I am looking forward to more pictures after these little babies have their feathers grown!

    Re: Stephane's roseicollis 2017

With something like 30 youngs every years you can easily understand I can't keep evereone for myself.
Generally I keep 2 pairs for myself and 1 cheek of each gender in case of trouble.
I'm saying to myself I'm happy to get rid of the one I've selected for sale but it's a lie, it's alaways hard to sale a bird you have fed every day for months for someone you don't even know.

9 new chicks with seeds "out of stock" from my seeds deliverers! thanks strikers we have living beings!
Fortunately I had fruits and lots of sprouted millet grass, without it it would have been a drama!

Thankfully I had fruit and eggfoods recipes, without it!?!?! My newborn 'white downfeathers" must have appreciated it as he is still alive.

How horrible and I hope you can find them seeds to eat soon. Thankfully you had back up food to feed them.
