I've seen this afternoon 12 common buzzard, one of them fleeing the barn where my cages are with a house sparrow in his beak, tonight, 5 barn owls, a pair nest in an abandonned housee in front of mine and have chicks every years, if only the weren't interested in my birds!

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear that this buzzard is around near your aviary! That would be so scary for the small little birds! That broke my heart reading it had a house sparrow in his beak. I saw this happen last year outside my house, a kookaburra came and took a house sparrow away in his beak, I cried all afternoon that day. I wish these birds of prey would just stick to eating snakes instead. I am petrified of snakes. Are you able to move your aviary or somehow be able to lock it with doors so that no predators can get inside? I really hope your little birdies will be ok.

I can move the aviary, my idea was to put it under an great old chestnut tree I have, like that my birds have less chances to see them, but the vultures knows they're here now, They have a nice way of taking birds, they scare them so they stay on the wire fence and grab them. 1 dog and 2 cats, nothing scares them.

Right now the birds are ok but it's a pity to see them like that, they have an aviary of 4m long and they stay in one corner, totally panikced to go the other way.

That was for the bad news, now the good, a third orange mask will be amongs us tomorrow.

I'm glad that at the moment the birds are ok, I feel bad for them, I hope they will no longer see those vultures if you move them under the chestnut tree. And hopefully they will be protected from those vultures in there too so that they cannot get them. They are definitely in good hands with you because you care for your little birds. The circle of nature is hard to witness when it happens in your own home.

I am so happy a new one will be arriving into the world tomorrow! I am looking forward to more pictures!

Here is a suggestion. Birds are afraid of tin pans hanging in trees. If you do have trees surrounding the aviary, try this idea and see if it works. You can use those aluminium pans that store bought pies are in. Also, not long ago, I read that someone hung old CDs in their trees and that scared the birds away. But I do not know if this would work for vulchers.

Looks like she is, because that baby on the right looks like it has marbled flight feathers??? It could just be that it's still really young.
What a nice surprise if it's true!

It's the first time one of my chicks have this feather pattern, so yes I think there is a great chance to be Marbled.
