Any safe bug repellents or insecticides around cages?

    Dear All,

I recently have seen some roaches in my birds room..
Ugh... who would like to have them around you?...
I assume my birds wouldn't like then either while I cannot help at all when I cannot spray those insecticides..

How do you all deal with this matter?
Is there any "Birds Safe" insecticides or repellents?

    I cannot think of any...

    JDL

I don't think there is. Is there any way you can take the birds and the cages out and spray the room with something and then wait a few days and wash down everything and put the birds back in. I know peppermint oil is good for ants but I do not know if it would work on roaches.

diatomaceous earth is safe and will kill the roaches easily. it is fine, powdery crushed rock actually and plugs the bugs' pores and dehydrates them to death. I have used it with my birds and it can't harm them. It's just really messy as it's like baby power but I use it all the time. Take a look on google.

Diatomaceous earth for sure. It's safe for pets and humans for exactly the reasons Karen said. I was looking for ways to kill potato bugs in my old place and wanted to use something non-chemical as my husband has allergies and there were kids living upstairs. That works like a charm!
