    What inspired your bird's name?

    Just out of curiosity.
Did you name your bird after someone? Or does their name have any specific meaning?
I named my baby boy Jonathan. He's named after Jonathan Joestar from my favorite anime, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I thought the name suited my budgie since Jonathan's a very kindhearted gentlemanly character, and my baby boy has proven to be quite the sweetheart so I think it fits perfectly. :)

That's so cute, I love the name JoJo, it sounds like it suits him perfectly! I laughed at you calling him gentlemanly, for some reason I imagine him wearing a little bow tie and bowing for you. I will have to watch some of that anime series, I haven't seen it.

I almost called one of mine after Rei from Neon Genesis, but it didn't quite fit! We would have had two with the anime theme then. My last cockatiel was called Kichi, which means fortunate or lucky in Japanese. It just seemed to suit him, and he was a rescue. After he passed away and I got my new boy I wanted to keep the Japanese theme so he was called Taiko or Tai for short - it seems to suit him as well.

Then I have my indian ringneck Asha. Asha means hope in indian, but if I'm honest, I kind of named her after Ash from pokemon...I know that's sad! Then my other tiel Kamali, his name took the longest to choose, and kamali is like a native american spirit guide. I felt like my three new birds were guiding my spirit to stay strong after I lost Kichi, so it means something to me.

Apart from the birds, we have a horse called Rocky (because his legs are different lengths like a rocky table), Sunny (who competes as Galaxy Rise, which is from a quote from Carl Sagan, very nerdy), one called Clover because we didn't know her mum was pregnant and thought she was just fat because she ate too much clover (until Clover was born). And I have a foal due in October which has a tentative nickname of Yoshi, yes from the video games!

    My Nan named Sammy
She just thought he looked like a Sammy

And Bluey was her bird. Want to guess what colour he is lol

Sparky, when we had her - well she was such a spunky little thing even as a baby - and had a spark of real mischief. So seemed appropriate.

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!
