New baby green cheek out of cage time

    Hello everybody, I'm new here.
I have a 3 months old green cheek conure (pineapple/cinnamon) and he's with me for a week now. He's doing great although he can get rough with beaking/biting to hard when exploring my hand etc, and I have quite a few chunks out of my fingers lips and ears. But I'm teaching him not to bite too hard with positive reinforcement and its already getting better I must say. I was wondering though, how often to have him out of his cage. For a week now I have him out of the cage about 3 or 4 times, each time about 30 minutes to an hour. When he's out I play with him on the couch. I have many different toys and I let him choose what he wants to play with. I also try to slowly teach him the colours. And I also teach him to step up and step down etc, I play with him with a towel, so that he gets used to that, and I teach him to fly back to me when he flies around. I'm wondering if I'm doing it all correct. Is he out of his cage enough? When he's out of his cage I do mix up the time between actively play or train with him, or letting him just do his own thing and let him fly around or play on his play stand.
I just want to do everything correctly since he's only been with me for a week. I could sure use some advice on what pace I should continue.

I think your doing a great job too and he is going to be a super friendly smart bird. I think you can keep him out longer if you want too but you may want to have a little food cup and water cup out by his toys so he can eat or drink if he feels like it. My daughter got her Conure when he was not quite 5 months old and he was out of the cage all day with her. He would fly to his cage to eat and then come back out when he was done.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.
