The parents started to copulate again, now I don't know if I let the parents raise the babies or if I hand-feed them

They really are cute little babies. Ragged picked on feathers and all. Hopefully the Momma will not pluck the next set of babies that hatch out.

2nd egg today The good thing is that now the female is back in the nest so less time to pluck the grown-ups of the first clutch.
With the decreasing temperatures and if the new eggs are fertile I probably will hand-feed the chick in their 2nd week of life.

The little girl of the 2nd pic is my new girlfriend I wouldn't have put money on her survival but we did it

LOL.... I love your new girlfriend! I am also happy she is happy and healthy these days. All of them look very good now and I hope the weather holds up so you don't have to take the babies inside to feed them.

    Re: White face Opaline?

Two new chicks are born this week, one is yellow downfeathered the other white.
After two days of snowstorm I found both parents out of the nest, I was like that :
Then I checked the nest and two youngs of the first brood were on the newborn, heating and feeding them. I didn't know tiels so young could have this kind of behavior. Now my chicks have 4 parents

Wow!! I did not know younger ones would step up to help either. Thankfully, that sure helped save the babies!! I look forward to seeing these two newbies! Maybe you will end up with an all white albino, and a yellow Lutino!!

Congrats on the new babies! Snow storm?????????? Whew!! I think before long, I will have one here!!

The weather is crazy, after 2 days of snow the temperature of the day has reached 59F this afternoon.

Bad parents leaving the babies when they needed to be keeping them warm in the snow storm. That is amazing the babies stepped in to take care of the tiny newborns. I love your video of all your birds and had to smile when I seen your chickens and ducks. We have two chickens here and they are our friends and run up to us everytime we go outside in the backyard. I never knew how much they liked there "humans". I am happy it has warmed up for you to give them little babies time to grow in some feathers.

    The soup is served

The mother is less often in the nest as another male is taking care of business, but I think she continue to pluck them at night, I can see a redness on one wing, I probably will need to buy formula.

The older ones are looking lots better and hopefully the female will get off her picking stage and let there feathers grow in. The new little baby "aliens" are well as cute as baby's that young can look.
