    Canary song

Hello everyone I spent today filming my little guy singing away while I was typing up some things on the computer. Hope you notice the odd tones in his song not sure if it was coming from him our just because I used my phone to record it.

Don't know, so many have genetically or family inherited song as well as anything environmentally or other birds they hear they may pick up. What I do know is he definitely is a strong singer. That would be the true definition of full throated singing. He's belting it out for sure.

    Re: Canary song

He always sings like this I was sitting last night on the computer and typing up a letter and he started to sing. It's like he is trying to copy the sound of my keyboard as that is normally when he starts to sing this way if i'm doing computer work. Even right now as i'm typing this he has started to sing it's very sweet indeed. I love my little guy very much I really think I should get another bird to be with him but it's hard to find a female, What I would like to know is there any other breed of bird I could put in with him as I do not want eggs.

    Re: Canary song

There are many finch breeds/species that are the same size and get along well. Siskins are one but they can still breed together and lay, and even hatch, the babies would just be considered mules, defined as they will be infertile. Look up finches that are smaller. I love owl finches, their voices are so different and calming. They are also gentle and non aggressive. I do not like mixing society finches with canary's, they carry to many bad things. They are cheap/inexpensive and calm but again to many bad things they carry, and the other cheep species is zebras but some zebras can be very aggressive, thus why I like owl finches.
