Awww!! He is beautiful! Sure looks like a boy to me, and I do think he is about 4 months. Try googling...pictures of spangle opaline budgies, and also cobalt spangle budgies. And also google sky blue opaline dominant pied budgie pictures. I think this last one I googled may be it.

He is sooooo precious!! I love him!! We will welcome updates anytme.

    Re: Zephyr, My Sweet Friend

He has a darker color on his back which looks cobalt or teal like. This little man just came home with me yesterday. Heís jumped on my finger once and flies to my voice when he hears it. I can stroke his breast feathers. Heís settling in sooooo well. Not eating really except a millet spray I put in for just that reason. Heís starting to explore his cage and sings me songs. So I think we are doing well!!

    Re: Zephyr, My Sweet Friend

Thank you!!! Heís really coming around. When I leave the vicinity he flies to the front of his cage looking for me. Heís singing and eating and playing and exploring his cage. Iím loving it. He churtles at me when I talk to him. Heís not stepping on my fingers or eating from them, but heís not afraid either. He looooves music. I have classical playing almost all the time because I find it relaxing.

A little back story. Iíve been extremely ill this year, and have been diagnosed with three autoimmune diseases. Much of this year Iíve spent watching the many birds at our feeders and they have brought me such joy. Iíve always loved them but theyíve really been a big part of my happiness finding this year. So I thought, being an animal lover, a budgie would be lovely, especially since my life has become so small due to illness. Zephyr is my joy and itís my pleasure to be his momma. My only regret is waiting so long to start this Budgie journey!!

I sense an addiction blooming. 😂😂😂 maybe theyíre like chips, you canít have just one?

What does this mean? Every time I go and talk to zephyr, he lifts the front of his wings only away from his body, stretching out a leg, and maybe a wing behind him, one at a time. Every single time I talk to him. Lol it must mean something?

I am sorry your not feeling well and I hope your doctor's can figure it out and help you soon.

Boomer use to do the bird stretching thing Zephyr is doing and I always thought it was just him stretching from sitting around chilling. We will see what Maxollie has to say since she has raised many budgies and I have never been around them.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.

    Re: Zephyr, My Sweet Friend

He is loving your interaction with him. The leg stretching and wing activity means he is very happy, and is listening to you! The bobbing the head is sooo cool! You are blessed to have found such a tame and unafraid budgie. Some never get to this level, even after months and even years!! Thankfully, you have found him.

You did find the perfect pet for your journey into healing from the diagnosis you have. I have found that meditation is wonderful for any challenge we may have in life. And, it is so important for us to remain hopeful, add any good and positive activity to our life, and to live only in the moment.

I have learned that not looking back, nor looking forward makes my life peaceful, only living for right now. We really have only this minute. My budgies are the best love of my life. I am retired, and at home most every day. I have had budgies in my life for many, many years.

Enjoy each minute with Zephyr. Yes, there just might be a friend for him, one fine day!

I am sending you (((((((hugs)))! Never give up hope! Hope is an anchor for our soul.

    Re: Zephyr, My Sweet Friend

You are soooo right!!! The biggest thing thatís served me during this horrid year was the discovery a few years back of exactly this! I had started meditating, and found that real Happiness comes from our looking for the beauty and joy in the NOW. That each moment offers us something we didnít have before. Even if my life is small right now, thereís beauty and love all around. Iíll stop here before I get toooooo into my spiritualism. 😂

I tell my grown children this all the time. Itís the simple things! Find the joy, the beauty! Life is trials, but we can still enjoy it if we are open to it. If I hadnít become ill, I wouldnít probably had zephyr, but would have just kept loving the wild birds. Which of course I still do.

Life is good. A struggle sometimes, yes. But still lovely.

Ps. I really think I want another budgie. 😂
