    Parakeet

I have two parakeets male and female I don't know how old they are. They are not tame but I have been working on taming them and also working on trying to train them to talk is it a possibility that they can learn to talk when they're together? They haven't been trained to talk

Welcome to the forum. I would think that it is possible to teach them to talk. I know my sister has a cockatoo and a Amazon and the Amazon talks great. The Cockatoo tries hard to talk but what comes out of his mouth sounds like talking but he makes up his own words. Its funny to listen to him.

Its will be harder to train your two and may take longer but it is going to happen sooner or later.

    Re: Parakeet

Hi, and welcome to the community. Congrats on bringing home your budgies. Here is my opinion. Budgies can and do learn to talk. Like all parrot species, it seems that males tend to be the best talkers, but females can also learn. It really is about the caregiver repeating words all of the time, i.e. repetitive speaking. I taught my 6 year old budgie to say.....how you doing? Are you doing ok? I began saying that to him just in a habit, when he was a baby and one day when he was a few months old, he started saying those words. He can also make the sound of a tic tock clock. The more you can talk to them each day, the bigger chance you have to teach them. Time and patience are on your side.
