Question Where to get a lovie?

I really, really want a lovebird! However, I want a hand- tame, playful lovebird that I can spend time with and meet before I decide to get. I searched online, and it's a little hard to find any adoption centers with lovies. I was wondering how all you found your lovies (especially if you got to meet them before you bought them). It's pretty hard to find one, but hopefully anyone can help. Thanks!

Have you look for exotic bird rescues in your area? They usually put the rescued birds into foster homes and socialize them so they are friendly with people. Or you call call the avian vets in your area to see if they can recommend lovebird breeders. Lovies are hard to find here too.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.

    I went to a breeder.

Maybe tell us where in the world you are - perhaps someone can give you a name....

Thanks Lee for the adorable sig!
