    Walking through food

(There are 2 separate bowls right next to each other) My budgie Ozzy when he starts eating with Joey most of the time he will walk through his own food bowl to get to where Joey's food bowl is and then walks out of the food to the perch so then Joey moves, and Ozzy does it again. Every time he walks through, he sprays seed everywhere, and this habit really annoys Joey to the point where sometimes he'll just give up eating. I've tried separating the food bowls, but Ozzy still tries to eat out of the same food bowl. Is there any way to stop this habit, it's really annoying to clear up seed every time they eat!

I have seen tube size seed feeders. These might work for you. You put seed in the tube, and the top on to cover. Then, the birds eat from the tube bottom. Yes, budgies can be little rascals in wasting seed and scratching it out of the cup or feeder!! Ugh

My lovebird use to take bathes in his water cup and splash the water out. I worried he would go thirsty if we left him alone for awhile because he splashed out the water. I bought him a cheap plastic tube water bottle from Kmart and it worked because he couldn't bathe in it so he always had water. The tube feeders would solve your problem as well.
