Oh no, hopefully your pulled them or used flour or cornstarch to stop the bleeding. My daughters conure broke one a year ago way down at the base of the feather and wasnt able to get it out so she had to rush him to the vets office so they could get it out. She was able to get the bleeding stopped using flour on the end of it so it did stop bleeding. She was afraid it might bleed more so that is why she took him to the vets office.

I feel you should call an Avian vet, and ask them how to proceed. I agree with Deanna, stopping the bleeding with flour.

If the father did this, you need to separate him from the babies. He could do the same thing to other chicks.

How old are the babies, and this little one, and how old are the parents? Does he pluck the others too, if there are some. With cockatiel pairs, both parents feed the babies. The mum may be able to feed with your handfeeding support, but if there are several babies, or eggs are still hatching, then, in my view, both parents need to feed.

We have some very experienced halndfeeders here, so, I am hoping they will see your post and give you their thoughts about this problem.
