    Lightbulb budgie training ideas

So I've had this idea for a bit and I tried it today but I was wondering if it was ok. So my birds are territorial of their cage and love it in there but I had an idea where I would put their food cups onto a clean shelf in my room and leave the door open to see if they'd go to it? I was just curious if that was ok. Also I was wondering how to get my birds to eat their fruits and veggies? I feel like I'm just wasting perfectly good food on trying to get them to eat it. I've been trying and don't want to give up but I was wondering if there was a easier way to make them seem appealing. thank you for reading/responding

Try mixing some of the fresh veggies and fruits together, and chop them fine, in a food chopper or food processor. Then, take an ice cube tray. Fill each cube with the mix, and pop it in the freezer. Then each morning, get one ice cube, put it on a plate, and let it thaw somewhat. Then try feeding that mix to them. This will save money for buying veggies and fruits.

I would cover the shelf with paper, so the wood would not discolor, if you are going to feed the fresh foods there. If it were me, I would keep the fresh veggie plate on top of the cage, and also a small plate inside of cage on cage floor.

Are there any electric cords in your room they can find to chew on? All birds are notorious for getting into trouble, when out flying free, and you sure do not want them to get electrocuted.

Thank you! I will try the veggies and fruits in the blender and see if that works out better for feeding them! I will also take your advice on the paper since I'm not done building their natural perch yet. Thank you so much!
