No, because the purpose of the candling is to look inside the shell with a pen size flashlight to see if you see embryo and little red veins inside of shell.

If there is some other way, I have no knowledge of it.

Yes, your best approach now is to leave mom, the eggs, and dad alone. Nature will do the work. Mom does not want her nest disturbed. This is completely natural, and upsetting her now, is not a good idea at all. We will keep hoping and praying for miracle babies.

Yes, mom and dad will feed the babies. Your role will be to check the nest now and then to be sure they are feeding the babies, but do not do it constantly. Again, mom will not liike it, and could abandon her nest. We do not want that to happen, because she has to feed her babies.

It is not uncommon for the eggs to not hatch in that first 18 day window. It could be a few days later.

Leave everything exactly as it is for now. If it were me, I would leave nest and eggs untouched for at least two more weeks.

When breeding, I have found I can only hope for the best and allow Nature to work the miracle. Breeding is no easy feat. Many things make up the process. To get more good info on the web, do a search for...breeding budgies and parakeets.

    Re: Parakeet breeding help

Ok can I just remove the eggs move her and the male to a much larger cage give them time to recover then return the nest box and see if they lay fertile eggs or will that stress out the mother because she still putting all her energy towards the unfertlle eggs siting on them I haven’t seen her out of the nest box for over a month I would thing she never leaves if it wasent for the large drooping at the bottom of the cage

    Re: Parakeet breeding help

I suggest you do a Google search on parakeet budgie breeding and egg laying. There are great articles about it on line. Breeding is complicated, there is no doubt. I really do not have anymore thoughts to help you at this particular time, other than what I have written above.
