    Attacked baby parakeet...HELP!!!

My 3.5 week old parakeet was attacked last night. I removed it and some of its feathers above its tail have been completly removed. Will the feathers grow back? Also, I am having a hard time getting it to hand feed. Itís been pecking at millet a little and I can get a little food into it. Do they chirp when hungry? I have been trying to feed every four hours. I have checked all over for serious injuries. Itís poop looks normal. I am not sure what to do. HELP!

I am sorry this happened to your baby and I am happy you are feeding it. I am hoping one of our breeders here will see your post and give you tips on how much and how often to feed your babies.
Fly Free Boomer, we will forever love you.

I am sorry your baby was attacked. I admire you for taking him or her out of the cage. Do a google search for...handfeeding baby budgies. There should be good info to read. And also go to YouTube and search for handfeeding baby budgies. There are great videos to see. It is good to add the millet seeds, if only a few at a time, to his diet, because millet is very nutritious and is also full of moisture. You could try using a clean eyedropper to give him water. It is good he is as old as he is, because the mom and or dad fed him those weeks, and gave him natural nourishment.

Hopefully, someone who has hand fed, will post info for you. We will watch for updates.
