    Macaw a blood feather

Really knew nothing about blood feathers, New owner (we were bird sitting for a bit and she was abandoned with us) anyway found a broken blood feather a couple weeks ago, looked for blood only found a couple drops which we thought were from her biting my husband. Anyway my concern is if there is still the shaft sticking out of her somewhere. is this cause for concern? Don't think she'd let me really look like i need to

It could be a problem and if she hits it again she might bleed again. There is a chance that she did break a blood feather and she already pulled out what was left of it as well. That was awfully nice of you to keep this big macaw after the owner just left her at your house. They are beautiful birds but I admit that big beak of there's scares the poo out of me
